Diane Lindner is a retired MD Pediatrician and a former Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington, Seattle. She is currently responsible for administering a "Reach Out and Read" program at a clinic for low-income children where more than 50 percent are of Hispanic origin. This Reach Out and Read program, which she started at Eastgate Public Health Clinic more than ten years ago, has taught her the importance of offering good quality books where children can identify themselves and find positive role models.
